CONSTRUCTION:
Make your own pattern on newsprint by drawing around a dinner plate (12” diameter.). Widen to 14” on the sides to create a fat oval pumpkin shape. Draw a tall rectangle in the top middle that is 5” high and 3” wide for the stem. The top of the stem will be placed on the fold of the white Roc-lon® MPC. Cut around the pattern with scissors. Open out.
Place the stem section of the Roc-lon® MPC cut-out on back of Green Vine Print and trace stem area (10” x 3”). Cut out.
Sew Orange Leaf Print to both ends of stem (right sides together). Open out. Lay Roc-lon® MPC cut-out on top of right side of calico. Cut around entire two-pumpkin-shapes-joined-by-stem.
Sew along top edge of one pumpkin shape, down the stem and along the top of the pumpkin on other side using ¼” seam allowance. Repeat on other side of stem. Turn right side out. Iron.
Sew around calico (right sides together) to make the lining pocket using ½” seam allowance.
Push lining pocket up out of the way, and sew around the
Roc-lon® MPC with a ½” seam allowance (wrong sides together). Use pinking shears to trim around outside of Roc-lon® MPC pumpkin shape near to the stitching. Paint the stem of the Roc-lon® MPC with Fresh Foliage.
Paint the pumpkin with Pure Orange.
Shade the stem with strokes of Thicket.
Shade the pumpkin with side-loaded strokes of Berry Wine. Let dry.
Paint over stem area with Extreme Glitter Peridot.
Paint over pumpkin areas with Extreme Glitter Orange. Let dry.
