Sunflower Floor Cloth Instructions

SUPPLIES:

Roc-lon® Multi-Purpose Cloth™ 21″ x 35″ – White
Acrylic Paints: Dark Green, Light Green, Bright Yellow, Gold, Brown
Textile medium
Poly-Acrylic sealer
#12 artist brush
Liner brush
Poly-Acrylic sealer brush
Jumbo sunflower stamp (or stamp of your choice)
Leaf stamp (or stamp of your choice)
Stencil tape
Scissors
Optional: Carpet pad to prevent floor cloth from slipping
PREP STEP:

All acrylic paints should be mixed 2/3 paint to 1/3 Textile Medium before painting the cloth. If you would like a lighter value, mix in more Textile Medium.

CONSTRUCTION:

Cut one piece of Roc-lon® Multi-Purpose Cloth™ 21″ x 35″

REFER TO PICTURE FOR PLACEMENT WHEN PAINTING DESIGN.

LATTICE INSTRUCTIONS:

Place stencil tape diagonally across lattice area leaving a one-inch space between each piece of tape. Mix Textile Medium, Dark Green and Light Green together to get a Medium Green color. Paint taped off area of lattice with Medium Green. Paint one side of each lattice with Dark Green to shade. Remove stencil tape. Let dry. Place stencil tape diagonally across painted lattice stripes in the opposite direction. Paint this open area with Medium Green. Paint one side of each lattice with Dark Green to shade. Remove stencil tape. Let dry.

SUNFLOWERS INSTRUCTIONS:

Stamp sunflowers around border of floor cloth. Brush sunflower stamp petals with Bright Yellow and shade with Gold. Reload stamp with paint for each sunflower. Brush sunflower stamp centers with Brown. See picture for placement. Let dry.

LEAVES BORDER INSTRUCTIONS:

Brush Dark Green onto one side of leaf stamp and Light Green on the other. Stamp various size leaves around sunflowers. Reload the stamp with paint for each leaf. Paint squiggles and leaf stems with Dark Green. Let dry.

FINISHING:

Let the floor cloth dry thoroughly. MAKE SURE YOU LET EACH COAT
OF POLY-ACRYLIC SEALER DRY BEFORE YOU PAINT THE NEXT COAT. Brush 4 to 6 coats of Poly-Acrylic Sealer over front of floor cloth. Brush two coats of Poly-Acrylic Sealer onto backside of floor cloth. Let dry thoroughly.

Optional: Cut a piece of carpet pad the size of the floor cloth. Place this under the floor cloth to prevent the floor cloth from slipping.
